ARRANGING A FUNERAL
At F. H. Halliday and Son we believe that choice is important and funerals should be individual, we will advise you on all of the options available to you.
We offer the following services...
F. H. Halliday and Son offer a complete and bespoke funeral service.
When we make the funeral arrangements we will advise on all local options for a service to take place, give all required information about legalities for a burial or cremation.
We will fully liaise with all third parties, for example the Hospital, Nursing Home, Clergy, the Doctor, the Police or Coroner, the Cemetery officials, Grave Diggers, Florists, Printers and Caterers.
We will prepare and securely deliver all legal paperwork to the relevant authorities.
We will advise on all transport options available and choices regarding choosing a coffin.
Discuss the options available to use one of our private chapels of rest (all on site)
Give a full estimate and discuss payment terms clearly before confirming any funeral arrangements.
We can also arrange funerals in any part of the UK and arrange repatriation services if required.
The type of coffin selected can reflect the person’s lifestyle: We have a large and comprehensive range to suit all budgets and tastes.
You may wish to choose a traditional oak coffin, a locally made wicker coffin or we can offer a bespoke service and will consider any design ideas you may have, which may be printed onto the coffin of your choice. We will of course advise on the suitability for burial or cremation.
The range of coffins we have available can be seen at www.coffins.co.uk
Our fleet of Mercedes vehicles gives a modern look with all the necessary safety and comfort features. Our family cars are fully air conditioned have privacy glass and all the seats have seat belts. We can of course offer a traditional fleet and supply different vehicles should you desire. We also offer a horse-drawn hearse service, a service our founders would have used back in 1880. We can supply a lovely original Victorian carriage built in 1893, which has been completely restored, pulled by two “Belgian Blacks”. This is a truly traditional way for a funeral procession to arrive at the local church or crematorium. Alternatively we can provide a motorbike hearse or if you have an idea of your own we can look into that too.
We always provide a written estimate for any arrangements that have been made and will fully explain our payment terms, advising you of any bereavement payments you may be entitled to. You can contact your local Job Centre Plus or Social Security office for more information (for further information please see the useful links).
As a member of SAIF (The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors) our clients have access to their legal careline telephone service on 0845 676 9470.
